My family and I love to travel together (whenever we can all find a break in our schedule). When brainstorming where to go, we thought of the many places on our bucket list, and then looked at a place way off our radar - the Galapagos Islands!
You might remember the Galapagos Islands from science or history class, because its where Charles Darwin came up with his theory on evolution. The island is full of rare breeds of wildlife, making it one of the best wildlife sightseeing places on earth. After we excitedly googled all about it, I couldn’t wait to take a break from busy city life, and dive in (literally look at the water its incredible)!
Some of the animals we saw include: the Galapagos giant tortoises, blue-footed bobbys and red-footed bobbys, Galapagos sea lions, Galapagos penguins, Galapagos flamingos, and “Darwin’s finches”. They were so friendly we got to see them up close, which I can only compare to a private tour of a zoo without cages. But it wasn’t scary at all the animals were all so sweet and it truly was a unique and unforgettable experience.
So how do you dress for tropical, off the map places? Since the islands are near the Equator, lightweight clothing is important for the heat and of course swimsuits, sun lotion, and good shoes for all the swimming and sightseeing!
